2020 Voters' Guide

Dear Virtual Public School Supporters,

Those who have supported our efforts over the years know it is elected state officials who will ultimately decide whether our virtual public schools survive and thrive here in Oregon.

As part of the Oregon Virtual Public Schools Alliance, your voice is critical to protect virtual public school options for our kids.

Please consider making your voice heard by:

BECOMING AN INFORMED VOTER: To learn how candidates support virtual public schools, we circulated a candidate questionnaire to every 2020 Oregon legislative candidate. Our 2020 Voters’ Guide will help you find out if the candidates seeking to represent you in Salem responded to our questionnaire. Not all candidates responded. For those who did, the guide shows what they said about virtual public schools.

  • View the Voters' Guide: Candidates are listed in alphabetical order in the Guide. There are two tabs, one for Senate candidates and one for House candidates . If you don’t know who represents you or in which legislative district you live, click here and type your address into the form. (Please note that this will link you to your legislative district and your current state legislators, some of whom may not be running for re-election or may not have responded to our questionnaire.)

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, VOTE AND RETURN YOUR BALLOT BY NOVEMBER 3rd.

ADVOCATING FOR OUR CHILDREN: You can do this!! Advocating is made up of simple actions such as sending an email to a legislator, making a phone call or attending a legislator’s virtual town hall. These actions give you an opportunity to tell legislators why a virtual public school is the right fit for your child and your family.

  • Sign-up here and let us know how you can help. Your voice is needed, and it will make a difference!

We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to working with you in the 2021 legislative session to protect access to quality virtual public schools.

Sincerely,

Tricia F. Powell
President
