Dear Virtual School Family,
Last week, over 300 virtual school students, parents, teachers, administrators and supporters gathered at the State Capitol in Salem to participate in the 10th Annual Virtual Public Schools Capitol Day and show their enthusiastic support for virtual public education. During the day, they
- participated in a fun and interactive educational activity,
- honored a student for his award winning video about school choice,
- rallied on the front steps of the Capitol to make their voices heard and present awards to key legislators,
- and walked the halls of the State Legislature to talk to their legislators about the importance of keeping virtual education as an option for Oregon families!
Thousands of Oregon families have found success for their children in virtual public schools. They are a vital part of our public school system that give kids who need an alternative to the traditional classroom a place to get a quality education. It was wonderful to see so many of you walking the halls of the legislature to reinforce this message.
If you attended Capitol Day this year or in a previous year, thank you so much for your support! For those of you who have not been able to join us for our Capitol Day event, you can view photos here.
Thank you for all you do to support our schools. Please mark your calendar and make plans now to join us in Salem in 2019 for our 11th Annual Virtual Public Schools Capitol Day!
Sincerely,
Debbie Thibodeaux
