Oppose bill to limit access to full-time virtual schools

Urge legislators to oppose HB2195

The Oregon Legislature is at it again. The 2021 Legislative Session doesn't convene until January 19, but full-time virtual public charter schools are already a target of state policymakers who don't understand this important education option.

HB2195, introduced by Rep. Marty Wilde, would:

  • Kill full-time virtual public charter schools as an option for Oregon families

  • Eliminate equal access to Oregon parents

  • Discriminate against families seeking a full-time virtual public charter school based on where they live

The legislation seeks to prohibit a student from enrolling in a full-time virtual public charter school located in a school district in which the student is not a resident if, the student's resident school district or education service district offers an online instruction option.

Contact your legislators today and urge them to oppose HB2195. Parents know what's best for their children. HB2195 unfairly prohibits parents from sending their children to the school of their choice.
