You're Invited To Testify At The OR Senate Education Committee Hearing!

On Wednesday, April 21, at 3:15pm, the Senate Education Committee will hold a hearing on Senate Bill 240 which would remove the 3% enrollment cap on full-time virtual public charter schools. In 2011, the Oregon State Legislature placed a cap of 3% on the number of kids in a school district that can transfer to full-time virtual schools. In the wake of COVID-19, more and more families are seeking enrollment in virtual public schools. School districts across the state are hitting the 3% cap and denying families enrollment in the school of their choice. This simply isn’t fair.

Thank you for registering for our Virtual Schools Capitol Day webinar on Tuesday, April 6 at 12pm. For those of you who have joined us in Salem to attend Virtual Schools Capitol Day in non-pandemic years, you know that we provide poster boards and markers for students to draw posters to wave during the rally on the front steps of the Capitol. Seeing the finished posters and all the positive messages about virtual schools is a highlight of the day.
