Like many other events, Virtual Schools Capitol Day will move to a virtual event this year. We wish that we could gather in person at the State Capitol in Salem, but we look forward to “seeing” you online.

The Oregon Legislature is at it again. The 2021 Legislative Session doesn't convene until January 19, but full-time virtual public charter schools are already a target of state policymakers who don't understand this important education option.

The Oregon Virtual Public Schools Alliance provides parents with resources to share their online school story. With so many families seeking education alternatives due to COVID-19, the parent perspective is more important than ever. Why did you choose a full-time online public charter school for your child? Or, if you’re trying to enroll your child, why is a full-time online option better than the online option offered by your local school district? State legislators and the public need to hear your story. We are collecting stories from parents and students to demonstrate why full-time online public schools are an important option for Oregon families.

Those who have supported our efforts over the years know it is elected state officials who will ultimately decide whether our virtual public schools survive and thrive here in Oregon.
